I was mindlessly doing my test and I opened reading list from canvas on my phone whilst doing quiz on laptop. Laptop consistently had quiz on and my phone opend reading list on the second question.

 

19 votes 14 comments. is anyone else having trouble logging into canvas on laptops/computers? i?m using chrome on my personal computer and it says?

 

Canvas Quiz Log Two out of 43 students navigated away from the screen between every single question during their final exam. It was in a campus computer lab on Canvas. I was in the room but couldn?t always see everyone all the time.

 

There was an HDA and announcement in Canvas about this accounts are temporarily deactivated and should be up starting Jan 3.

 

Usually if I can?t access canvas etc it?s because somehow my login details in the cookies got ?corrupted? or something so I just clear them and retype which has always worked so far for me.

 

Empty threat canvas only tracks when you tab out and how long since it's open note and all my notes be on google doc online hasn't made a difference now what professors are more worried about is posting test and exam questions on a site like chegg and 8 students all copy pasting the answer not even trying to put it in their own words.

 

Canvas is open source so you can actually check. If you check out the quiz log history you?ll see the two major ?cheating? countermeasures are inactivity and and window/tab selection. It cannot tell that you specifically split screen. It can however monitor that you clicked away from the window or to another tab.

 

Issue with Canvas audit log? I stayed on the exam page the entire time I was taking the exam and yet I lost 20 points. I have no idea what to do. I don't think my professor would believe me if I tried to tell her I hadn't left the exam window. Has anyone else had an issue like this?? : r/college Go to college r/college r/college

 

Professors who say ?I can see when you clicked away from the quiz (or test) on Canvas ? are telling the truth.

 

The quiz log shouldn?t be used as the only evidence. If your Wi-Fi blips or the page falls asleep (which some browsers do) Canvas says you stopped viewing the page (because for all it knows you did). If they have the quiz log and you in a GroupMe posting answers or something then it?s a violation but the log alone shouldn?t be enough. That being said cheating is bad mmkay?
