This tutorial will show you how to change the screen refresh rate for you monitor to the Hertz rate you want for it in Windows 7 and Windows 8.

 

1 Open Settings and click/tap on the Ease of Access icon. This essentially allows you to remove and restore a connected external display on demand without having to physically disconnect and reconnect the display OR turn on or off the display power.
