It was NEVER Uber's primary intention to have drivers earn more by putting tipping in the customer app whether for EATS or UberX. The primary motivation with EATS was to use customer tips to subsidize what Uber has to pay.

 

I have over 3000 Uber eats orders on my profile; orders I?ve placed as a customer. That doesn?t count Uber rides which is just over 2000. That means BOTH Uber and Uber eats. That or allow notifications from the Uber eats app on your phone. Usually about one every month or two I?ll get a random notification saying I?m eligible to claim a promo. Usually it?s like 25%-40% off like three orders. The places you can use those codes at are usually restricted too.

However now I am unable to place any orders on Uber eats even though there are no promo codes on my account or when I am checking out. This has been happening since October 12th 2023.
