We stopped at Pfeiffer beach on our way back from Julia Pfeiffer Burns park. It is off the beaten path but definitely worth the 2-mile drive down the one lane dirt road and the $15 entrance fee. The purple-stippled sand is unusual and pretty. The rock formations are impressive.
