You can paste your PGN here and analyse just as you would a game you played on Lichess. So how does one use the engine to improve? I recently saw in a comment thread on another post that one person talked about how they found Lichess analysis beginner unfriendly. Let's try to dispel that notion. The feature is after all meant for beginners.

 

I've watched a couple of games where people play against stockfish level 8 on lichess and they pretty much lose all the time. Is it possible for someone to beat a level 8 computer in any time betw...

 

Lichess has better players on average which shouldn't surprise anyone since Chess.com has the better domain name more marketing and way more people. The people who play on lichess likely started elsewhere like chess.com then made the switch.

 

In lichess I have not troubles to reach 1900-2000 rating beating easily the 1500 players. I think those users are using engines when the position is complicated but playing a fair game the rest of the game. That might evitate them to be catched and allow them to play at a 1500 level while they are poor players that should have a rating <1500.

 

Lichess Desktop App out now! Free and easy to use I have a lot of tabs open in my browsers (yes browser s) and I want Lichess to have a special place on my computer. That's why I packaged lichess.org into a desktop app for Linux and Windows! Feel free to download your version. It is free of charge of course.

 

Lichess only trust on a detection algorithm that can be deceived very easily. In addition to other issues that aren't important for a regular player but that make chesscom better for influencers teachers and anyone who want to promote chess.

 

So I usually play on Lichess now a days while my friend plays on Chess.com. He keeps telling me that Chess.com is harder and has more players and more serious players therefore the games are harde...

And while Lichess is nice the premium Chess.com subscription is better. And as I am spending and hour or so a day on chess now I figure the subscription is worth it for me. TLDR: Both are good. Lichess is better than Chess.com without a subscription. Chess.com (diamond sub) is better than Lichess for me.
