Sgc uses the Authentic label to represent any card that will not be eligible for a numeric grade. Whether it be by some form of alteration or if the card would'nt grade a SGC 10 (Poor) the lowest grade offered. Psa used to put what type of alteration the card had on the slab I think they replaced that with just the authentic-altered slab though.

? SGC graded 145k cards - ?13% vs Apr ?17% YoY. ? Beckett graded 59k cards - ?3% vs Apr ?1% YoY. according to sgc they had to extend grading from 5-10 days to 15-20 days. i am currently at 24 days. according to gemrate sgc's gradings are down 17% year over year. something not making sense. anybody got any inside info?

My results are as follows: 4 SGC 96s: PSA 9 PSA 8 PSA 8 PSA 7 4 SGC 92s: PSA 8 PSA 8 PSA 8 (ST) PSA 7 1 SGC 88: PSA 8 Indeed this is a very small sample but it is still interesting evidence in PSA's favor as far as I am concerned. Edited to add: I cracked each and every one of these out prior to submitting.

Just noticed on their site they've posted a note saying turnaround is now 15-20 days instead of 10.

LOL. But from my little world between very high pricing and tougher grading standards I am tapped out on PSA grading save for a very rare instance (probably limited to slabbing autographed cards). With all of this said I am intrigued in using further the "Burger King" in the relationship-- SGC.

SGC case pricing and customer service + demand for PSA would = perfect grading company from that standpoint. Grading between the companies is pretty equal at least in my experience.

SGC has a very high reputation especially with the vintage card market. I personally like SGC for vintage cards--especially pre-1960--because the cards pop with color. You'll see all over this board and others that there are mixed reviews on the crossover grading comparison. Sometimes you get a lower grade and other times it comes in at the same level. Some people say you have a better chance ...

Hi I am sure this has probably been asked before but what is the opinion on SGC in grading vintage cards? Especially older (before 1960) football. Thanks.
