To display the Em Dash from CSS you can use a CSS shortcode or CSS entity. Use the shortcode section to copy the CSS entity code for the Em Dash. You can only add content :before or :after an element: Here is the example: .addSymbol:after { content: ' \2014'; <div class="addSymbol">Em Dash</div>

 

The en dash is the least loved of all; it?s not easily rendered by the average keyboard user (one has to select it as a special character whereas the em dash can be conjured with two hyphens) so it?s mostly encountered in typeset material.

The character is called an em dash because it is one em wide a length that varies depending on the font size. One em is the same length as the font's height (which is typically measured in points).
