Han et al. (2023) present a theoretical model of DAO governance that incorporates strategic token-trading within a token-based voting framework to explore potential conflicts of interest between large stakeholders (whales) and numerous small participants.

 

A DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is a blockchain-based organization governed by smart contracts and community voting.

 

This book explores DAO governance through both technical frameworks and real-world case studies to assess the performance of decentralized systems.

 

The purpose of this article is to identify and analyze the critical research streams in DAO studies particularly in governance mechanisms technical frameworks value assessment and legal dimensions.

 

Poor design and minimal safeguards remain serious liabilities. There are also unresolved regulatory risks especially for participants based in the United States. While some DAOs attempt to reduce exposure by incorporating as legal entities such as Wyoming?s DAO LLC or Delaware?s series LLC these frameworks are still untested in court.
